Rising UK rapper Slew has shared his new mixtape ‘Face Value’ in full.
You might well know the name – and you might recognise the face. Slew has been moving in different lanes, blending grime and drill aspects with broader hip-hop and Stateside rap aspects, producing his own sound in the process.
A flurry of essential singles have underlined his worth, with each anthem going hard. A multi-faceted artist, he takes care of his visual identity, too; Slew was chosen by Burberry to sit front row at their London Fashion Week 2024 show last month, dressed by the brand.
Operating on a DIY basis, he announced – and sold out – his debut London show, using it as a launchpad for his next mixtape.
Out now, ‘Face Value’ is the sound of someone spitting his truth, with Slew matching technical dexterity – he can handle virtually any flow thrown in his direction – with excellent pen game, illuminating aspects of life that are often left in the dark.
