High On Fire and Sleep guitarist Matt Pike has had his pedals stolen during a flight.
The guitarist helped forge the stoner rock sound, with Sleep's 'Dopesmoker' remaining a perennial Clash office play.
Currently touring with High On Fire, Matt Pike's pedal board went missing during a Delta airlines flight.
The board was eventually returned to him… excepted the pedals were missing.
It's a devastating blow to the guitarist, who has amassed all manner of specially customised gear and rare models in his time.
Pike’s partner Alyssa Maucere detailed the missing pedals on Twitter, and claimed that Delta were being uncommunicative about the subject of reimbursement.
@Delta Grammy Award-Winning Matt Pike of #Sleep and #Highonfire had his pedals stolen from a pilfered Pelican case on your watch! Delivered empty on his doorstep! You have a thief working behind the scenes! AND you denied our claim! SPREAD THE WORD! pic.twitter.com/R6nqStHdMM
