Legendary metal group Sleep are preparing a special new vinyl edition of their famed 1999 album ‘Dopesmoker’.
The record has gone down in stoner metal lore, with its detuned guitars and sluggish tempos breaking new ground. A physically all-encompassing experience, ‘Dopesmoker’ has gone on to enjoy a cult following, one that extends far beyond metal’s environs.
Third Man have stepped in for a special vinyl re-issue, with the Jack White aligned label and pressing plant bringing ‘Dopesmoker’ back to the racks.
A standard black vinyl re-issue has been arranged, alongside a limited edition that features actual, bona fide cannabis leaves pressed into the record.
Gnarly.
The ‘Weedian High-Fi’ edition will be available from Third Man’s Detroit store on August 26th, the same day that ‘Dopesmoker’ returns to digital platforms following its removal in February of this year.
