American electronic artist Slauson Malone 1 has signed to Warp Records.
The visionary released his excellent full-length album ‘A Quiet Farwell, 2016-2018 (Crater Speak)’ in 2019, gaining across the board plaudits. An inquisitive work, Slauson Malone 1 seemed to craft sonic art that lasted.
Signing to Warp Records, he’s also switched locations, moving from New York to a fresh base in Los Angeles. Real name Jasper Marsalis, the electronic musician opens an all-new chapter in his life with ‘Voyager’.
A song about moments of change in our lives, he comments: “I wanted to write something in the state of being sick of being sick, annoyed with being annoyed. This verse documents my first steps of refusing the indulgence of trauma and grief. With each movement, the feeling returns but different, weirder.”
Out now, ‘Voyager’ is coupled to a music video directed by Ryosuke Tanzawa.
