Slade Christmas Hit Banned

By One London Hotel

“Its Christmas!” Noddy Holder once sang, but the Slade singer has been silenced by one London hotel who have received a barrage of complaints after playing the group’s hit ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’.

The 1973 classic is a perennial festive favorite. At the time it did battle with ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’ by fellow glam rockers Wizzard. In the ultimate Christmas battle Slade came out on top, becoming a regular staple of shopping centres in the build up to the big day.

Yet a hotel in Kensington has sensationally banned the song, after complaints that it was irritating. “We always want to make sure guests have an enjoyable time when they stay with us,” a spokeswoman told the Mirror newspaper.

“So when it became apparent that the Slade hit was not being well received by such a large proportion of our guests, we decided the best way to keep everyone’s spirits up in the countdown to Christmas was to remove it from the playlist.”

It is not known what, if any, Christmas hit they have replaced it yet. Hopefully Mr Blobby.
