Returning Leeds indie rockers Sky Larkin are set to release their second album this summer.
An old fashioned power trio, Sky Larkin are a product of Leeds’ ever buoyant indie rock scene. Early singles were released on local powerhouse Dance To The Radio, before Wichita swooped for the band.
Debut album ‘The Golden Spike’ was released just last year, with the band now preparing a follow up. Working quickly, Sky Larkin’s second album will be released through Wichita later this year.
The news follows on from two unusual releases. ‘Beeline’ was produced in a limited edition watch format, while ‘Antibodies’ was an old fashioned cassette tape single.
Now Sky Larkin will follow this with something even more unusual – a release on a normal format. The trio’s forthcoming second album will be available on newfangled CD and download from August.
Titled ‘Kaleide’ the album has been produced by John Goodmanson, who will familiar to British indie fans thanks to his pivotal role on recent Los Campesinos! recordings.
Containing twelve tracks, the bulk of the new material has been road tested. At a recent Stag And Dagger show in Glasgow the trio played a number of new tracks, celebrating their return with a hectic show.
In addition to the new album Sky Larkin are preparing to release a free EP. Containing three tracks, lead song ‘Kaliede’ is taken from the album while the band have also packed in two more recordings.
New track ‘Spooktacular’ will be matched with an acoustic version of previously released fan favourite, ‘Matador’. Click HERE to download the new EP!
