American producer Skrillex has revealed that he initially asked Ellie Goulding out via email.
Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boy asks her girl out for coffee and woos girl with good looks, charm, charisma.
Sadly, the Skrillex and Ellie Goulding romance didn’t start out like that – it happened in cyberspace. Using the power of his Gmail account, the American producer set out to woo the English singer and, to date, has succeeded.
“I sent her an e-mail, like, “I’m Skrillex. I don’t know if you know who I am, but I love your shit.” We started texting and talking on the phone” he told Rolling Stone. “Just randomly, when she was in New York, she flew out to Memphis for a couple of days to see me. We’re not a public thing, but I want to take her to the Grammys and have a seat for her.”
Continuing, Skrillex said: “I love her. She’s my fucking girl. I definitely want to take her, but the red carpet can be weird.”
With his Trans-Atlantic romance in full flow, Skrillex has organised a number of UK shows. The producer will close the South West Four Weekender, and recently completed his first full British tour.
Set to return in April, Skrillex has lined up shows in Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow. All dates are long since sold out.
