Skepta will release his eagerly awaited album ‘Knife And Fork’ later this year.
The grime innovator broke the news on his social channels today – January 1st – stepping into the New Year with a strong resolution. In a note, Skepta detailed that his album ‘Knife And Fork’ will be released later this year, his first since 2019’s ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’.
At the time, Clash write Aaron Bishop said of ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’ – “On ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’, Skepta is back with a renewed hunger and sense of purpose, overcoming a new set of challenges and proving once again why he is a grime mainstay.”
The North London icon scooped the Mercury for his glass ceiling shattering album ‘Konnichiwa’, but has shied away from solo activity of late. Joining with Jammer to explore club culture, their joint Mas Tiempo venture caused a ruckus in 2023.
Closing the year with a sold out 15,000 capacity event at London’s Drumsheds venue, Mas Tiempo seem to have struck a chord with fans.
Returning to solo activity in 2024, Skepta intends to ignite his path with the release of new single ‘Gas Me Up (Diligent)’, dropping January 26th.
In a note, he writes:
It’s been years since I dropped my last album and I want to thank you for all the love during my hiatus. I’ve seen the messages, tweets and Tik Toks, I’m truly grateful that my music is still resonating with the world, even in my absence.
