sir Was is at his uplifting best on new single ‘Get Up’.
The Swedish artist has released three excellent albums to date, working with the likes of Little Dragon, Teleman, Gengahr, Falle Nioke, Caspar Clausen (Efterklang) and Seb Wildblood while amassing more than 65 million streams.
The Gothenburg musician returns with ‘Get Up’, a dose of electronic optimism that revels in ambition. Softly soulful, there’s also an immediacy to his work that puts you in mind of Kaytranada, say, or even Toro y Moi’s more overtly pop aspects.
Joel Wästberg retains his ability to finesse sound, making ‘Get Up’ both subtle, and sparkling in vivid colour. He says of the new single…
