SIPHO. returns with new song ‘THE CHEMICALS’.
The songwriter’s emphatically emotive approach marks him out from his peers, with SIPHO. daring to discuss topics other artists would never touch. Debut album ‘Prayers & Paranoia’ lands on October 27th, driven forwards by his resolute honesty.
New single ‘THE CHEMICALS’ is a case in point. A song about self-doubt, and attempting to move beyond this, it seeks out peace of mind. Engaging with some difficult personal questions, SIPHO. embraces maturity, with his reflective lyricism coupled to that bold, dramatic vocal.
SIPHO. comments…
“I remember being 15, and having a lot more peace of mind. I remember seeing people who couldn’t control certain tendencies about themselves, and it’s only as I’ve grown up that I realise why. So I guess ‘THE CHEMICALS’ is about me realising why people do some shit they know they shouldn’t be doing.
“‘All we do is lay in those same old positions’ is about everyday monotony. It’s both sexual, but not – that lack of variation can kill you; a lack of progression can stagnate people. ‘The chemicals peeling off the dust’ is something I see in all generations – all the different things we use to alter our state of mind. As a society we’ve been on the search for ways to see the other side.”
Tune in now.
