Sinead O'Connor is receiving medical care after posting a suicidal note on social media.
The note appeared on her verified Facebook account a few hours ago, stating that "there is only so much any woman can be expected to bear" and "what was done to me this week was appalling cruelty."
The singer wrote that she was staying at a hotel somewhere in Ireland under an assumed name, and that she had taken a drug overdose.
Thankfully, Sinead O'Connor was found in time by Gardai Police and is now undergoing medical treatment. The Irish Examiner reports that the singer is "safe and well" while a police spokesperson told The Independent that it could not comment on individual cases.
The Irish artist underwent a hysterectomy in August, and cancelled all 2015 shows earlier this year in order to care for her son after he was diagnosed with an un-named "life-threatening illness".
Enormously sad news, everyone at Clash is eager to see Sinead O'Connor make a swift recovery.
