Sindresu is defining his own sound with latest single, ‘Daydream.’
The track is a vibrant splash of escapism, tapping into the upbeat elements of tropical house and pop.
Born in Sunndalsora, the Norwegian producer discovered his passion for music at 5 years old, going on to learn the guitar, piano and violin. Although slanting towards the electronic, ‘Daydream’ follows suit in its multi-layered dynamics and contrasting textures, naming Flume and Matoma as key influences. Mellow in his vocals, Clayton Jones ruminates across the track, penning an earworm hook that finds solace in picturesque landscapes and nostalgia.
Shared via self-titled label Sindresu Records, the latest offering follows a string of releases that have earnt the producer national recognition. Receiving support from Norway’s mainstay radio station, NRK P1 Radio, it is the likes of ‘Sumblime’ and ‘Weightless’ that will surely weave their way across festival crowds and stages.
‘Daydream’ marks an exciting turning point for Sindresu.
He notes: “Daydream is about escaping reality during dark times and is inspired by a difficult period in my life. I experienced serious burnout, which left me with declined health for a time. This song tells the story of being stuck in an unfulfilling life and dreaming of better days. I had this entire song, vocal and instrumental, finished in my head before even starting to produce it, since I wasn’t able to work at the time. The vocals were written by me and performed by vocalist Clayton Jones.”
