Icelandic post-rock superstars Sigur Ros are set to storm the UK singles charts when “Inni mer syngur vitleysingur” is released on September 8th.
The band are currently busy surfing a wave of critical adulation after the reception afforded to last year’s “Heima” documentary and this year’s album “Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust” (or in English “With a buzz in our ears we play endlessly”).
The new single is by far the most linear and commercial single the band have released to date. Best known for crashing post-rock epics with ethereal vocals, the new single is a stomping, piano driven (dare we say it) pop song. Translating into English as “Within me a lunatic sings”, the single is one of the stand out tracks from the new album.
“Inni mer syngur vitleysingur” is set to be released on September 8th.
