The Icelandic group have risen from cult favorites to global recognition, becoming one of the music world’s most celebrated live acts along the way. In a recent interview with British red top The Mirror frontmas Jon Por Birgisson revealed that he used to be a huge fan of Iron Maiden – best known for hit ‘Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter’.
“We met Maiden’s Bruce Dickenson once on a show. He didn’t believe we actually liked them, but I really did. I loved the energy, the power and the melodies.”
However, the singer attributes his early love of music to the Fab Four stating that “my first memory of music is playing a Beatles album too fast on my parents’ stereo. I used to love doing that – it’s how I learned to play the guitar.”
