Sigur Ros are set to release their new album 'Kveikur' through XL on June 17th.
A reclusive, often quite secretive entity, Sigur Ros have been relatively open about their intentions to write new material. The band have spoken about the process during interviews, alongside a few titbits on their blog.
Now they're ready to reveal all. New album 'Kveikur' will be released through XL on June 17th, with Sigur Ros set to drop by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon tonight (March 25th).
For now, though, we have but one track to go on. 'Brennisteinn' has all the epic sweep and orchestral score we've come to love from the Icelandic group, but there's a heavy, rock influenced touch here as well – check out those grinding guitars, for example, which betray an Industrial sensibility.
