Sic Alps are to return later this year with a self-titled album – watch the video for ‘Glyphs’ below.
Pavement’s re-union tour contained some special moments. However for some, perhaps the most memorable aspect was discovering the strange, self-deprecating universe of Sic Alps.
A Bay Area garage institution, the band’s sprawling discography and unhinged feel has much in common with Pavement themselves. The similarity ends there, however, with Sic Alps carving out their own, deeply idiosyncratic, niche.
New album ‘Sic Alps’ will hopefully act as an entrance point for new fans. The band will release the full length on September 17th, with Drag City once again providing a home for the group.
Seemingly featuring a fuller sound, Sic Alps recently posted the video for opening cut ‘Glyphs’. Watch it below.
