shy martin Outlines Debut Album ‘late night thoughts’

Swedish pop voice digs deep...

shy martin has confirmed plans for her debut album ‘late night thoughts’.

The Swedish pop artist has spent the past decade conjuring special moments, including co-writes with the likes of The Chainsmokers, Kygo, Astrid S, and many more.

Autumn single ‘wish I didn’t know you’ inaugurated a fresh era, with shy martin now unveiling plans for her debut album. Out on May 19th, ‘late night thoughts’ finds the Swedish artist at her most open and personal, displaying a riveting sense of honesty across the song cycle.

Crafted alongside Fanny Hultman and Kerstin Ljungstrom, the material emerged from a complete life reset – shy went independent, and found fresh inspiration within the music she was writing.

“I felt the need to do some kind of reset”, she says. “It was important for me to create something for myself. Without even knowing you get distracted, you get influenced… and without even noticing it you feel lost.”

Aiming for something pop but also genre-less, the twilight-saturated title song is now online. Emerging from a highly intimate space, shy martin let her thoughts run wild across a palette that breaks free of pop strictures.

She comments: “I don’t even know what genre it is and I don’t know what inspired it. It felt like a song that just happened. It felt different from other things I’ve written and that’s what made it interesting to me…”

An exceptionally exciting moment from this artist, you can check out ‘late night thoughts’ below.
