Irish singer-songwriter shiv today shares her first solo offering of the year, ‘limerence’, alongside a news of a new album, ‘the defiance of a sad girl’, out July 4th.
‘limerence’ follows shiv’s feature on Girls of the Internet’s ‘Never Ever Ever’ EP, and was self-produced during a writing trip at her parents’ home in Uganda. Fuelled by soft and strident RnB melody, shiv explores the complex knot of feelings surrounding an unrequited crush.
Of the single, shiv says: “I have the tendency to run away with myself and my feelings, sometimes the delusion wins, and I write entire stories in my mind, becoming borderline annoyed with the other party for not carrying their weight in the fictitious relationship I’ve created in my mind.”
