SHEIVA Surprises With ‘Heech’ EP

Out now on Saffron Records...

London-based artist SHEIVA has shared new EP ‘Heech’.

The British-Iranian artist is a well-known collaborator, having worked with some regular CLASH favourites – think Obongjayar, Sam Akpro, James Massiah, Louis Culture, Wu-Lu and more.

Along the way, SHEIVA has built solo material – probing, experimental, often emotional vignettes, they’ve now pieced together their debut EP.

Out now on female-forward imprint Saffron Records, the EP contains three songs, each with their own character. ‘Piano Song’ is perhaps central to the experience, melting together SHEIVA’s creativity, with a sense of lo-fi experimentalism.

SHEIVA comments…

The piano and singing were recorded on my phone while I was just improvising on the upright-piano, afterwards me and Shimz produced the song, layered it with airy backing vocals and then of course Shimz created an amazing drop. [Piano Song has a] deep meaning surrounding striving with optimism – it’s a message to my younger self to ‘be yourself’.

Tune in now.
