Sharon Van Etten and Sopranos actor Michael Imperioli combine on ‘I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire’.
The song was recorded as part of the soundtrack for new National Geographic series A Small Light, which actually boasts Esme Haim as executive music producer.
The series details the life of Miep Gies (played by Bel Powley), a Dutch woman of Austrian descent who helped hide Anne Frank and her family in her Amsterdam attic.
In all, the glittering soundtrack includes fresh recordings from Angel Olsen, Danielle Haim, Kamasi Washington, Weyes Blood, Moses Sumney, and others.
Sharon Van Etten was recruited to cover ‘I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire’, a superb vintage pop song made famous by the Ink Spots. Sopranos actor and shoegaze fan Michael Imperioli steps in with a spoken word segment.
