Sharon Jones & Dap Kings will release their final album 'Soul Of A Woman' on November 17th.
Sharon Jones was a soul inspiration. Her death nearly a year ago robbed the world of a potent voice, one that found fame late in life.
The singer recorded up until the end, working direct to eight-track tape at Daptone’s House of Soul studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
These recordings are collected on new album 'Soul Of A Woman', a remarkable document of peace, serenity, and defiance.
“The last couple of years, Sharon was battling,” says Dap-Kings bass player Bosco Mann who produced the album. “When she was strongest, that’s when we’d go into the studio— Sharon couldn’t phone it in, so we would only work when she was really feeling it.”
New track 'Matter Of Time' is online now – veering from the subtle funk of the backbeat to those soaring gospel influences, it's an absolute gem.
