Shackleton, Wacław Zimpel and Siddhartha Belmannu align on new album ‘In The Cell Of Dreams’.
The new album is out on September 8th via the !K7 offshoot, 7K!; it will be available digitally and on vinyl. Electronic visionary Shackleton first linked with avant-folk force Wacław Zimpel back in 2020, combining for an album on Shapednoise’s Cosmo Rhythmatic.
The partnership continues in this new LP, and the musicians are joined by acclaimed South Indian vocalist Siddhartha Belmannu. A singer who has been performing worldwide since his teens, Belmannu was named part of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 back in 2021.
New album ‘In The Cell Of Dreams’ promises to be something special, and it’s led by the meditative sounds of ‘The Ocean Lies Between Us’. A truly exploratory piece of music, it seems to exist on its own terms, untethered to genre. Softly billowing out of the speakers, ‘The Ocean Lies Between Us’ has a painterly quality, each note taking time to settle.
Out now, it bodes well for what is to follow. Shackleton, Wacław Zimpel and Siddhartha Belmannu will play a special show at Berlin Atonal on September 8th, before playing London’s Jazz Cafe later this year.
