Sex Pistols For Chelsea

Band To Write Club Anthem

Sex Pistols band mates Steve Cook and Paul Jones are apparently writing a new club anthem for Chelsea Football Club, it has been announced.

The one time punk villains have come a long way in recent years. With John Lydon appearing in butter adverts, it seems that the Sex Pistols are capable of anything. Steve Jones and Paul Cook are both long time fans of Chelsea Football Club, and according to reports in British red top The Sun are attempting to write a new anthem.

However, they are desperate to avoid the cliched approach attempted by other musicians. “We want to do something that’s not corny like all the other football songs,” Jones said. “Music and football tend to produce appalling results when put together, that’s what we want to avoid.”

Lydon supports rivals Arsenal, and has yet to comment. The current Chelsea anthem is ‘Blue Is The Colour’ – released in 1972 and featuring members of the Chelsea squad singing.
