Sea Girls opened 2020 with real momentum.
The indie all-stars shared their EP 'Under Exit Lights', with single 'Ready For More' becoming an instant anthem.
Jagged indie pop with a dose of reality, it marked a band in transition, one spreading their wings with real confidence.
“The lyrics for these songs draw their soul from my life of late nights and the mornings after – about being young and going out a lot,” frontman Henry Camamile explains. “It involves dark thoughts, anxiety, but ends in hope, positivity and optimism.”
But then coronavirus intervened. Forced to postpone their sold out UK tour, Sea Girls were placed under lockdown, communicating via Skype and WhatsApp.
Deciding to push ahead, the band have been recording some Living Room sessions – intimate live cuts using technology to break down boundaries.
We're able to share this biting rendition of 'Call Me Out' – their first ever single – and it lands on the day they were meant to headline London's Roundhouse.
A bittersweet moment for Sea Girls, but we're 100% convinced they'll have that opportunity once more when all this passes by.
The session itself is a neat video clip, grappling with technology while still having a slightly lo-fi, DIY quality.
