Scottish Composer Graeme JD Ronald Returns With ‘My Wee Escape’

His new album 'Danielle' lands on November 29th...

Scottish composer Graeme JD Ronald has shared gorgeous new piece 'My Wee Escape'.

Ronald formerly worked under the name Remember Remember, growing from one man and a loop pedal to a daring ensemble over the course of three albums.

Now based in St. Louis in the United States, Graeme JD Ronald will release new album 'Danielle' on November 29th through Rock Action.

It's his first blast of new music in five years, and it's led by gorgeous, moving new song 'My Wee Escape'.

The album is the soundtrack to a documentary – also called Danielle – which has been steered by lauded film maker Gareth Warland.

The film hinges on the story of 27 year-old Danielle MacGillvray and her six year-old son Peter, who live in Scotland's dramatically beautiful Outer Hebrides.

Danielle lives with Multiple Sclerosis, but she's a runner, horse rider, and a fire-fighter, all while looking after he son.

Ronald says: "Rather than a story about an illness, Danielle's is a story about a strong, resilient woman, whose life is defined by far more than her illness. I wanted to rise to the challenge of helping to tell that story."

"It's also a story about the Scottish Islands, and about home. As someone who is far from my home of Scotland, the film made me reflect deeply on our connection to where we come from, and the extent to which it defines us as people."

'My Wee Escape' is a beautiful introduction to this, and you can check it out below.
