Hugely tipped star in the making Santogold is finally set to arrive on these shores when she releases the chart-devouring beast “L.E.S. Artistes” on May 5th.
Santogold is a genre smashing pop phenomenon, almost universally tipped by both style rags and music papers alike at the beginning of 2008. “L.E.S. Artistes” more than lives up to the hype, mixing analogue synths with simple guitar strumming to create something which is forward thinking without losing its pop appeal.
The single acts as a perfect taster for the forthcoming album “Santogold” – due out on May 12th. With UK dates already in the bag, it looks as if the charts may as well surrender right now.
