Sandancer makes his bow with new single ‘Radial’.
The project is the latest iteration of Howard Whiddett’s creative imagination. An electronics guru, he previously operated as a member of Qtier, releasing several intriguing projects before the duo was placed on ice.
As a collaborator, his CV is also extensive; he joined Jamiroquai for their ‘Automaton’ world tour, performing at huge venues on just about every continent. Frontman Jay Kay even developed a pet name for the musician – The Ableton Wizard, in honour his skills on Ableton Live.
Having also DJ’d for club queen Róisín Murphy, he’s clearly someone in-demand, but new single ‘Radial’ allows him to introduce a fresh moniker.
Sandancer brings together his electronic expertise, the finessed programming aligning with dulcet vocals from Theo Ogundipe. The hugely respected actor and musician is perhaps best known as Rueben from BAFTA winning UK series Top Boy, but here he is at his melodic best.
A deft collaboration, this is a mature, confident offering from Sandancer, one that puts him firmly at centre stage.
