Sam Sparro Award News

Singer Up For 5 ARIA's

Rising star Sam Sparro has been nominated for a staggering five ARIA’s – the biggest award ceremony for musicians in Australia.

His self titled album gained plaudits from critics both here and Down Under, with lead single “Black And Gold” a massive chart hit earlier in the summer. Australian music is riding high just now, with bands such as The Presets and Cut Copy exploding the notion that all the Aussies care about is hard rock and beer.

The Presets are also big winners in the nominations list, scooping four nominations including “Best Album” and “Best Group”. Other breaking Australian groups such as Midnight Juggernauts and Cut Copy were high on the list, with three nominations between them.

Sam Sparro has been nominated for the following awards:

SINGLE OF THE YEAR (‘Black and Gold’)
BEST MALE ARTIST
BEST POP RELEASE
BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST – ALBUM (Sam Sparro)
BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST – SINGLE (‘Black and Gold’)

The ARIAs (Australian Recording Industry Awards) will take place on September 29th.
