Sam Smith Wants To Be A Mummy

But being single is "exhausting..."

Sam Smith has revealed their desire to have children.

The singer's delayed new album is out on October 30th, and they took time out to chat with Zane Lowe for his Apple Music show.

Speaking of his desire to have kids, they comment: "I want to be a mummy".

"I want kids," they added. "I want all of it. I want to be with the kids, watch them grow and be with them every day. I want to be mummy."

Sadly, though, Sam needs to find a partner first, a search they say is "exhausting…"

Sam admits: "I’m going to work my ass off (and) hopefully find a boyfriend but they’re absolutely nowhere to be found in London. I’ve been searching all over the place. Honestly, I’ve been on the front line now for a good three years. It’s exhausting."

Sam now uses gender neutral pronouns, a change they say has been some time in coming. Discussing this process, Sam says: "We're changing a language here!"

The benefit, they comment, has been immediate. "I feel so unafraid of failure, unafraid of my imperfections." they explain. "And I just feel I don’t feel a lot of fear at the moment, because I just feel like I could do everything wrong and it would still be okay because I’ve got my own back. I really have my own back, and that’s a lovely feeling to feel."

Sam Smith will release new album 'Love Goes' on October 30th.
