Ah, the tangled tale of Sam Smith and the James Bond theme.
Only last week, the singer appeared on Jo Whiley's Radio 2 show and denied any involvement, saying he was "definitely not" going to get on board.
A matter of days later, Sam Smith has down a cheeky about-turn and confirmed that he definitely will be recording the theme song for new James Bond film Spectre.
Speaking to Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw the singer said: "I'm so relieved to actually talk about this, this has been a top secret mission of my own."
"I got called into the office with Barbara Broccoli and Sam Mendes and they gave me the script, I read the script… they said 'have a go at the song'. It's the quickest I've ever written a song – it took 20 minutes… and they loved it!"
Co-written with frequent partner Jimmy Napes the track is titled 'Writing's On The Wall' and will be released on September 25th.
