Sam Austins Unleashes New Single ‘Dancing With The Devil’

It's inspired by early 00s indie...

Sam Austins has shared his defiant new single ‘Dancing With The Devil’.

The songwriter found solace in New York, a place where he felt he could finally be himself. Recent single ‘Matador’, which was produced by Rodaidh McDonald, caused shockwaves, melding together rap, R&B, and doses of indie.

His debut EP is out in early 2023, with Sam Austins currently on tour across North America after being hand-picked to support Dora Jar by the bedroom pop auteur herself.

New single ‘Dancing With The Devil’ is out now, a surging slice of energy that fuses 00 indie – think the Strokes, or the Walkmen – with his own patent brand of ultra-individual pop music.

Recalling his early infatuation with The Strokes, Sam Austins reveals that the band “remind me of a time when the only thing that I could afford was bodega meals, living in New York. The energy of us poor kids from Detroit, running around Manhattan like it was all ours still means the absolute world to me. I wanted to create a song that captured that madness…”
