Saloon Dion Launch Debut EP, Share New Single ‘Happiness’

Tune in now...

Ahead of their transatlantic voyage this weekend, Saloon Dion have finally announced their debut EP, with another taste of the project arriving in the form of ‘Happiness’, the second single (following January’s ‘I Don’t Feel’). The EP, titled ‘Muckers’, is due for release on May 19th via Mucker Records, the band’s DIY ethos and community spirit shining through fiercely with their now-independent nature.

‘Happiness’ is a moodier moment tonally for the band, but still retains their raucous energy and sheer volume as an outfit. The track plays with a heavier, 90s alt-rock aesthetic, matched with some slick guitar riffage which wouldn’t be out of place on the biggest of rowdy festival stages. Their live show is undeniably chaos, of the most joyous order, but the band still channel this energy and sheer passion for their craft via the records. ‘Happiness’ powers through, driving bass and drums keep the track chugging along, with delightfully scrappy and distorted guitar work adding a vast expanse to the track. Dave Sturgess’ yells of ‘happiness’ throughout the chorus are infectious, his verse delivery loaded with charisma and a natural swagger rarely heard now in the post punk saturate.

Once again Saloon Dion prove they are one of the most exciting groups emerging from the woodwork, and their debut EP is sure to send them from underground legends to titans of the scene.

Tune in now.
