Saint Clair has always imbued her remarkable pop structures with an incredible depth of personal meaning.
The songwriter - Emma Topolski - speaks from the heart, and everything carrying her name is a sign of supreme quality.
New EP 'in the violet hour' is incoming, containing four sharply defined chapters, analysing the varying stages of grief.
The first chapter is titled 'goddess' and it's a gorgeous, meditative introduction to the project as a whole.
We're able to share a full live clip, one expertly pieced together by the songwriter's sister, Tamsin Topolski.
A lucid, direct, eloquent performance, 'goddess' is taken to fresh heights in this stunning video. She comments:
"Fortunately for me, I spent the whole of lockdown with my sister (who directed my latest visual EP in the violet hour) and my boyfriend, an amazing musician and bass player which meant together, we had a literal in-house team. Chris and I created this stripped-back version of goddess using just bass and a harmoniser and Tam came up with the beautiful idea to intersperse our live performance with a moving portrait."
"We borrowed some vintage lenses, waited for the sun to shine; Tam taught herself how to edit and this is the result. I’ve loved seeing something more tender and still emerge to juxtapose with the boldness of the original..."
Tune in now.
'in the violet hour' EP will be released on November 6th.
