Toronto artist SadBoi – real name Ebhoni Cato O’Garro – has shared her new EP ‘Dry Cry’ via LVRN Records.
‘Dry Cry’ builds on the convergence of future-racing R&B, baile funk and icy drill beats of ‘Bare Chat’, released earlier this year, whilst delving deeper into sexual liberation, post-heartbreak glow-ups, new flames – all bound by a body-talk ambitions and brazenness.
For SadBoi ‘Dry Cry’ is a bridge between her fan favourite, club-honed sound and new sonic terrains. She says: “With this mixtape, I was able to truly explore new sounds while staying true to the familiar ones my audience connects with. I wrote nearly every song as a way to uplift myself, smile through the BS, escape my issues with a good time, and release emotions without tears. ‘Dry Cry’ is me closing this chapter that was necessary to close in order for everyone to be prepared for what’s to come! Turn up and let ‘Dry Cry serve as the soundtrack for letting it all out!”
Guest features on the project include British rapper Blanco, viral rapper-producer Cash Cobain, fellow Toronto artists Smiley and more. This EP comes on the heels of SadBoi’s most recent single ‘Watch It All Fall’. This November, SadBoi wrapped up a sold-out US tour alongside the alt-rap duo Coco & Clair Clair, as part of their Girl Tour ’24. She supported Nia Archives and Ayra Starr on their repective tours across North America last year.
