Sad Night Dynamite – childhood friends, Archie and Josh – have unveiled their first release of the year, ‘Godfather’, a preview of their upcoming debut album.
‘Godfather’, featuring YSL-signed rapper Yung Kayo, is a callback to the pair’s debut single ‘Icy Violence‘, taking cues from hip-hop and Roma folk, whilst retaining the narcopeltic, schizoid world-building they first established on their self-titled project, and fleshed out on 2022 follow-up ‘Volume II‘.
Sad Night Dynamite were “inspired by the film [‘Godfather’], we descended into the world of the mafia, with its cycle of violence and betrayal. Sad Night has always felt like a bit of a cult, and ‘family is forever’ is the perfect strap-line...”
With a debut album on the horizon, Sad Night Dynamite “set out to explore that space between dystopia and escapism, tackling everyday horrors with sincerity but also waspish humour.”
