SABINA Returns With New Piledriver ‘Somebody Else’

It bursts with energy...

New York based SABINA has shared her new single ‘Somebody Else’.

A devoutly independent talent, SABINA’s fusion of soul, pop, and R&B lit up the internet just over a decade ago, with her Russian-penned anthem ‘Dagestan’ becoming a real ear-worm.

Since then she’s created her own lane, a nimble pop confection that has won a cult audience.

SABINA starts a new journey with this latest single, the fruits of her partnership with producer Timur Magomedov, founder of Caspian Records. Out now, ‘Somebody Else’ merges the pristine songwriting of Paul Simon, say, with the bravura pop futurism of Caroline Polachek.

Reminiscent of the dramatic theatre that fuels Perfume Genius, this new single blends electronic tones with a vocal that unhinges itself from fear.

SABINA comments…

“I started writing ‘Somebody Else’ a few years ago. It reflects a moment in my life when I suddenly understood that what I had been doing until that point was driven by fear, not love. It was a painful realisation that forced me to change. From that moment on, I learned how to flex a love muscle, not a fear one. Eventually, I grew stronger and broke the chains that were holding me back.”
