S Club Return With ‘These Are The Days’

Their first new single in 20 years...

UK pop legends S Club return with new single ‘These Are The Days’ – their first release in 20 years.

The group reformed earlier this year, launching plans for an ambitious arena tour. Tragically, founding member Paul Cattermole won’t be there – he passed away suddenly a few weeks after the announcement was made.

The shocked band took time out before vowing to continue, paying tribute to their friend. Hannah Spearitt – who was previously in a relationship with Paul Cattermole – told The Sun this week: “It’s still so raw and I have these moments where I don’t quite believe that it’s real. I still can’t believe I will never see him again.”

The tour is drawing closer, with S Club now opting to share some brand new music.

A peppy slice of Motown-indebted pop soul, ‘These Are The Days’ is about embracing every moment, and it finds S Club dialling into their roots while also charting a path to adulthood.

“It’s the start of a long hot summer…” the group sing, and their timing is apt – it’s the school holidays, after all. Sculpted by S Club’s original hit songwriting team – Cathy Dennis, Simon Ellis, Johanne Ellis and producer John Nathaniel – the video finds S Club looking back over some memories.

It’s bittersweet, too – the sense of loss is palpable.

Closing, S Club are revealed in their current five member iteration – watch the video below.
