RZA To Defend Chess Title

At the Hip Hop Chess Federation tournament...

Long known for his love of chess, RZA put his reputation to the test last year.

Taking part in a charity tournament organised by the Hip Hop Chess Federation, the Wu-Tang icon ran out clear winner.

Well, he's about to launch an attempt to claim his crown for the second time. Taking place at the Anaheim Business Expo in California next Sunday (February 16th) a donation from each ticket sale will be used as part of HHCF’s after school programmes at schools in South Central Los Angeles.

Looking ahead to the tournament, RZA was on fighting form: "I am looking forward to the upcoming chess battle at the HHCF Chess Kings Invitational in Los Angeles. To those knowing I have to defend my belt, get ready to protect ya neck."

Competition will be fierce, though, with competitors featuring Dilated Peoples' Rakaa Iriscience, DJ Rob Flow and Quadir Lateef, amongst others.
