Ryan Adams is set to work with The Lemonheads on their new studio album, it has emerged.
Ever-green grunge outfit The Lemonheads last released an album of original material in 2006, but it seems that recent ‘Best Of’ compilation ‘Laughing All The Way To The Cleaners’ has inspired them to get back into the studio.
Working on a new album, Ryan Adams has been invited to work with the band. Breaking the news on Twitter, the country troubadour / metal urchin / computer games blogger (delete as appropriate) wrote:
“Playing drums on the Lemonheads records too. Dream come true… Back to the punker sounds”.
Which is, of course, a good thing. Continuing, Ryan Adams explained that the new Lemonheads album features songwriter Evan Dando working alongside founding member Ben Deily and former bassist, Juliana Hatfield.
“Looking forward to producing the new Lemonheads album this weekend with orig 2 songwriters Evan & Ben with@julianahatfield on bass.”
Here’s ‘It’s A Shame About Ray’.
