Ryan Adams Releases Sci Fi Concept Album

'ORION' out now

American songwriter Ryan Adams is preparing to release a “Sci-Fi metal concept album”.

Always unpredictable, Ryan Adams told fans last year that he was taking time off music. True to his word, the singer spent the bulk of 2009 publishing novels and writing magazine columns about vintage computer games.

‘New’ material – albeit recorded some time ago – has sneaked out since then. However Ryan Adams is now set to release an entire album of previously unheard material, apparently influenced by science fiction.

His first new release since splitting from The Cardinals back in 2009, the album was actually recorded in 2006. Featuring Ryan Adams working by himself, the singer recently posted a statement on his website confirming the news.

Released on his own PAX AM label, the album is the official follow up to Ryan Adams’ ‘Cardinology’ released back in 2008.

For full information on the release, visit the album’s website. Containing tracks such as ‘Imminent Galactic War’ the material is deeply influenced by science fiction, and apparently tells a complete story,

Labelled by Ryan Adams as his “first fully-realized Sci-Fi metal concept album” the new material will only be available on vinyl. Selling out almost immediately, the package contained a download card, a poster and exclusive artwork designed by Michel Langevin from Voivod.
