Rustie Previews New EP

Listen to 'Hyperthrust' now!

Glasgow producer Rustie has offered fans a sneak preview of his forthcoming EP ‘Sunburst’.

What’s in a name? Aquacrunk by any other name would sound as sweet. Fusing bass frequencies to hip hop, Rustie’s productions spawned a joke term which he has taken two years to shrug off.

Mixing hip hop’s swagger with squelching synths, Rustie’s productions display a fevered imagination. Introduced to the wider world via the ‘Bad Science’ EP a contract with Warp Records soon followed.

Taking his time over a follow up, the wait has been well worth it. ‘Sunburst’ is difficult to ignore, a mixture of scattered beats and outrageous synths which recall the deep fried G-Funk which dominated West Coast hip hop.

Yet the new EP is extremely varied. Rustie demonstrates the full breadth of his ability, with the release following on from a year learning his trade during high profile appearances at Sonar, Brainfeeder and Warp events.

Previewing his new EP with a special stream, fans can now hear ‘Hyperthrust’. Don’t rely on words, check it out at the bottom of the page!

Meanwhile, Rustie has confirmed a special launch party. Due to take place on October 1st, the event takes over London’s CAMP venue. The line up includes Jam City, dubstep guru Untold and a rare live performance from Harmonic 313.

Tickets are on sale now.
