Rusko On Britney Spears Collaboration

Dubstep producer working on new material

Los Angeles based dubstep producer Rusko has spoken about working with Britney Spears.

An enormous pop phenomenon, Britney Spears is also a high profile advocate of dubstep. Her last album featured some (watered down) half step rhythms and, if celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is to be believed, her new album features some remarkable collaborations.

Yorkshire born producer Rusko has been working on new material with the pop princess, alongside a lengthy cast of guest stars. Speaking to The Guardian, the producer confirmed the news.

“Good old Perez!” he laughed. “It’s a bit random, but I’m so excited for the challenge. I’ve already made one track for her with Alex from South Rakkas. It turned out amazing and it’s going to be proper hard dubstep.”

Continuing, Rusko mused on the possibility of dubstep becoming the music of choice for pop’s upper crust. “I don’t know really, I presume so. I’m just going to continue making music that I like. I think that dubstep has such a wide scope it can go anywhere. I’m ready for it. World domination!”

Signed to Mad Decent in the United States, Rusko has been closely linked to the label’s founder Diplo. “I met Switch first, he moved out to LA and linked up with Diplo, then they went on to do Major Lazer. Anyway, he introduced me to Diplo and it went on from there” he explained.

“It’s been a really wicked ride, we’ve done some other production work together and I just finished a huge US tour with Major Lazer.”

Displo is set to release his new album ‘O.M.G.’ this summer.
