Rising force Runrummer has shared new single 'I Like Getting High (But Not All The Time)'.
The songwriter spent her youth moving from place to place, spending time in Brighton, Lancaster, and Canada, before settling down in East London.
Laying down roots in the city, she began exploring her identity, becoming involved with LGBTQ+ communities.
Real name Livi Morris, her glistening alt-pop offers layered, nuanced creativity that works on different levels.
Runrummer explains:
"A lot of my lyrics focus on struggles I've had with sexuality, gender identity and mental health. Music has always helped me through hard times and I think it can be an extremely powerful tool in helping to inspire anyone who feels marginalised or different. You can always find musicians in your corner and you can always shut out the world with your headphones on".
Runrummer is ready to share new single 'I Like Getting High (But Not All The Time)', and it's about the play off between creative activities and maintaining a balanced life.
The single "is all about the struggles faced by independent artists in the modern world. Trying to establish yourself as a serious musician whilst holding down a steady job which pays the bills can be a real challenge. They're worlds which often clash."
She continues: "Stress, anxiety and depression can feel all-encompassing, whilst drugs and alcohol can feel like an easy release. It's about striking a good balance, acknowledging what's good for you and moving forward."
A potent and all-too-relatable single, you can check it out now.
