Royksopp are set to release new single 'Running To The Sea' on December 16th.
With their glacial, melodic take on synth-pop, Royksopp have spent more than a decade delivering wonderfully chilled material. Recently rewarding themselves with some down time, the Norwegian duo managed to squeeze out a downbeat mix for the Late Night Tales series.
Heading back into the studio, Royksopp recently unveiled their new single. 'Running To The Sea' promptly went to number one in their native Norway, with vocals provided by the platinum-selling Norwegian artist Susanne Sundfør.
Backed by 'Something In My Heart', the single is set to gain a full British release on December 16th. "'Running To The Sea’ and ‘Something In My Heart’ are in essence both expressions of compulsion and its strong, often uncontrollable, persisting pull", explain the duo. "Dependence is a returning theme in our music".
