Roots Manuva is streaming his new single 'Stolen Youth' – listen to it below.
One of the most respected MCs that UK hip hop has ever flung up, Roots Manuva plays by his own rules. New EP 'Banana Skank' hinted that new material was forthcoming, and it's release earlier this year at least signalled that the Tottenham based artist was still pushing ahead.
Last night (August 5th) viewers of Channel 4 show 'Skins' got a little surprise. There, slap bang in the middle of the show, was a brand new Roots Manuva track – and it's mighty impressive.
'Stolen Youth' boasts plenty of sub bass, with its desolate production matching some downbeat rhymes from Roots Manuva. Having featured in the first season of 'Skins', Rodney Smith was honoured to take part in the series' finale.
