Twitter has become the new social networking craze, and one of its fiercest proponents is none other than ?uestlove of crack hip hop team The Roots.
Allowing users to give bite sized updates of their day, Twitter gives a unique insight into others personalities. Amongst the most passionate devotees are some unlikely figures – Stephen Fry was recently trapped in a lift and occupied himself by updating his Twitter account.
The Roots’ ?uestlove is also a fan and gave running commentary on the Oscars. After giving a number of predictions the musician had a fantastic night giving acerbic updates on the ceremony.
Beginning with “i like the low budget opening” ?uestlove continues “hmmmm i thought id be on some “wrap it up B!” shit with this way of nomination process but i think i like this cause all get props” before affirming “this is the best nomination presentation i ever seen.”
The late Heath Ledger was regarded as the favourite for the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award, with the musician commenting “ok we know its going to ledger. just give it to them already.”
After the ‘Dark Knight’ star was announced as the winner the actor’s family emerged from the back of the hall leading ?uestlove to comment “why the ledge clan in the rosa park section?!?!?”.
Apparently the musician placed a bet on Mickey Rourke winning an Oscar claiming “Rouke baby!!! lookin fo lil joe!! i got $ on this son!!!!!!!!!!!” and “baby needs a new pair of $hoes!!!”.
However it was all to end in tears: “oh my god. bitch im broke.”
