The American artist – real name Tucker Pillsbury – suffered a life-threatening ski accident in 2017, prompting a period of profound isolation and deep depression.
Emerging from this with his 'Arizona In The Summer' EP, these experiences seemed to broaden his appreciation for life.
Heading out on tour next month, new single 'Hello!' is a beautifully judged return, with the gently uplifting melody sitting at odds with the often stark lyricism.
Building to that wonderfully extended outro, 'Hello!' is a sign that Role Model is moving into fresh, uncharted spaces.
