Role Model Announces New Album ‘Kansas Anymore’

Listen to new single, 'Deeply Still In Love'...

Tucker Pilsbury aka Role Model has today announced the release of his new album, ‘Kansas Anymore’, out July 19th via Interscope Records.

With the album reveal comes the buoyant, lovestruck overtures of new single ‘Deeply Still In Love’, produced by Noah Conrad, following the LP’s first single, ‘Oh, Gemini‘. Role Model also shares a video directed by Dylan Knight, which pays homage to the bar brawls and mayhem of films like Groundhog Day and Coyote Ugly.

Pilsbury began working on his sophomore album in September 2022 whilst still touring his first album, ‘Rx‘. It charts the turbulent period of summer 2023. “At a certain point – maybe it was a quarter life crisis I still don’t know – I became the most home sick I’ve ever been in my entire life,”  Role Model says. The Maine-born artist started to go back home frequently, which complicated his long-term relationship. “I was going home a lot and trying to find comfort in that way while feeling that relationship was suffering because of that.”

Half of the album was produced in the autumn of 2023, after the relationship had ended, with Pilsbury reflecting on what unfolded. The album’s title, ‘Kansas Anymore’, comes from a song that was discarded, though the evocation of Dorothy’s famous line from The Wizard of Oz felt too symbolic to not integrate into the album experience.
