Idlewild single returns with charming, mature new single...
'Like Caruso'

Roddy Woomble has shared new single 'Like Caruso' - check it out now.

The Scottish songwriter returned to front Idlewild on 2015's studio album 'Everything Ever Written', a wonderful return from a much-loved band.

Roddy's solo work has tended to be dominated by a prevailing interest in folk music, including collaborations with musicians such as John McCusker and Kris Drever.

New single 'Like Caruso' opens a fresh chapter for the songwriter, with the emphatic, barbed vocal set against an arrangement that is almost post-punk in tone.

Reference points could include Bowie's Berlin period or The Blue Nile, while lyrically Roddy recounts a tale of wandering home in the dark, musing on the life of Enrico Caruso.

Hugely impressive, you can check it out below.
