Robin Pecknold has posted a new – apparently autobiographical – track named ‘Olivia, In A Separate Bed’.
Robin Pecknold has always been known for wearing his heart on his sleeve. Yet a new song posted to his SoundCloud page seems to take this one step further.
‘Oliva, In A Separate Bed’ was posted last night (February 22nd) and came accompanied by a number of personal Tweets (via 107.7 The End). Since deleted, the messages appeared to infer that Robin Pecknold was writing about a very difficult break up.
Recorded with just guitar and voice, ‘Oliva, In A Separate Bed’ is a sparse, affecting piece of songwriting. Ending with Pecknold sighing ‘come to me’ it’s difficult to shake off the notion that this is intended be heard by someone.

Since posting the song, Robin Pecknold has written a number of Tweets which seem to follow on from his earlier emotional state. “Shouldn’t be tweeting right now. Going away for a bit. Love you” he wrote, before adding: “I will wait forever.”
Finally, Robin Pecknold wrote: “Doing the song helped. Life is cool. Amazing friends and projects.”
